Understanding Power and Control in Abuse
Abuse is not just about physical violence—it is about power and control. Many survivors experience patterns of manipulation, coercion, and intimidation that extend beyond physical harm. The Power and Control Wheel, developed by the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project, illustrates the different ways abusers exert dominance over their partners.
